About Adoption Counts
Adoption Counts was launched in 2017, having brought the professional expertise and specialist skills of the adoption services of five local authorities from across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. By going regional, the scale of our organisation means that we are able to forge better matches between parents and children, to create strong relationships that last.
In order to meet the needs of children waiting for an adoptive family, we encourage enquiries from a diverse section of the community, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race or faith.
We are particularly reaching out for people who will consider children aged three years and above, sibling groups, children of a Black African and Black Caribbean heritage and children with identified additional needs – these are the children who wait the longest in care and we are looking for adopters who could open their heart and home to them.
Your family is our focus and our team is passionate about giving you the very best care and support at every stage of the adoption journey, to achieve the best outcome both for you and for children awaiting adoption.
Our commitment to equality and diversity
Adoption Counts is committed to equality and diversity. We welcome applicants from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds and seek to place our children from a global majority heritage in homes which celebrate their ethnicity. We are dedicated to addressing issues raised by the Black Lives Matter movement and we stand against all forms of racism; whether overt, insidious, individual, or institutional.
